  • Dr. Smart

    Latoya Smart, Ph.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist at DBT Arizona. Dr. Smart is an assistant professor at Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M International University, and Grand Canyon University. Dr. Smart provides services for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 18-25). She also provides individual as well as group therapy. Additionally, Dr. Smart is trained in psychological assessment.

    Born and raised in Jamaica, Dr. Smart obtained her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Psychology and Spanish at the University of the West Indies. She received a Master’s in Juvenile

    Forensic Psychology and her PhD in Clinical Adolescent Psychology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Smart completed her internship at a Day Treatment Center for Elementary and Middle School children in Bradenton, Florida, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Harris County Juvenile Probation Department in Houston, Texas.

    In her spare time, Dr. Smart enjoys makeup artistry and the performing arts. She also likes to sing, cook traditional Jamaican meals, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
